ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A 38-foot cabin cruiser caught fire at Rivers Edge Marina in St. Augustine Saturday night, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.
Firefighters arrived on scene at 11:31 p.m. Saturday, according to Capt. Acosta with the SJCFR. Crews were able to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading.
No one was on board the boat when the fire started and no injuries were reported.
SJCFR said a possible electrical short in the engine room started the blaze. All of the engines were in the off position.
Although the fire damage was limited to the engine room there was significant smoke damage to the whole vessel, Acosta said.
