  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
Just got her back from the boatyard after, among other things, having all of the blackwater hoses replaced. I've looked everywhere but I can't seem to get a consensus on holding capacity and which tank was connected to which head. I've read that the VIP and forward head are connected to the front tank which is 100gal. (?) and that the starboard engine room tank only connects to the master head. Allegedly-I've read-this is how the factory did it.

So, my questions are, exactly what is the correct setup for the tanks and heads and what is the true capacity of the two tanks. I've found nothing on the starboard ER tank. The hose replacements have left me with the VIP and master heads connected to the starboard ER tank and the forward (day) head solo on the forward tank.

My specs show 100 gallon in the forward tank and 65 gallons in the generator room. The master and forward heads pump into the v berth tank, the center head flows into the generator tank. However mine is a 1979 and I’m not sure if your year is the same.
