Since Bimini is a popular destination for some HOF members I figured i d post this update...
The two large G and R buoys at the channel entrance are still there but the sandbar on the green side is rapidly expanding into the channel. Do not rely on last tracks, do not cut the corner, read the water! The old range marker at the south end is still there for those who prefer the old approach
There is a dredge working in the channel just south of the lone red day marker. They are monitoring ch 10 and had a poorly marked pipe running ashore to SoBim, leave the dredge to stbd coming in but stay close and off the sandbar on your port side. Dredging hasnt reached the shallowest part of the entrance, in the turn off the Bim Sands jetties (8' MLW)
Bimini Big game is no longer a Harvey Outpost Resort but still fully operational. They have excellent free wifi these days. Prrsonaly i prefer it to Bim Bay (too far, too much construction, more expensive) and better views, more cooling breeze than Bim Sands. Sea Crest, blue Water, brown and Weeches are still around.
These days the night time hot spot appears to Big John's (by browns) , freshly renovated, it was hopping!
Sand has shifted and unfortunately most of radio beach (north side of Alice town) is severely eroded. Same with honeymoon harbor, the beach is as narrow as I ve seen it but the rays are still friendly
