Hatteras Model
74' COCKPIT MY (1995 - 1999)
The light is out on one of my black toggles for one of my bilge pumps. This is a momentary on/off/auto toggle available at Sams. Much to my surprise, when I went under the bridge to look behind the switch, it, along with the other 6 bilge pump toggles, appears to be buried in a metal case. Although there are screws to get the face plate off of the toggles on the toggle side of the switch, I thought getting to it from the back would be the way to go. Has anyone dealt with this? I am reluctant to remove the face plate and start pulling on wires unless that is the best way at the toggle.

On my 1989 74' CPMY the backs of the fly bridge switches are plainly visible. There is no metal box. You will need to get at the back of the switches to replace. Before replacing make sure ground wire is hooked up to the light on the back of the switch. I assume switch will still manually turn pump on?

Thanks. The switch does still run the pump. I will need to get to the back to check the ground wire. Right now, the only entrance to the back appears to be from the front. Seems odd to me. It also seems odd to me that the light on one of these lighted switches would go out. Who knows.

I knew it was too odd to be true. When I pulled the old toggle to replace it with the new toggle, I realized that the PO had replaced the OEM switch with one that did not have a light. Simple and now back to OEM.
