This post is mostly for Starman. The belly tanks on the yachtfish from fore to aft are the water tank, the holding tank, and the center fuel tank. I was told by Jennifer Carmen at Hatteras that there were two sizes of holding tank in the 48's. One was 60 gal and the other 84. According to her description, if your tank is between the center stringers just aft of the water tank, you have an 84 gal tank.
On our boat the heads drain into the top of the tank on the aft end, and the pumpout and macerator outlets are on the bottom of the aft end of the tank. I am not sure if this is the original layout or not, but looking at the top of the tank, there is no place to connect any pumpout hose. Upside is that you don't have to worry about a rotted pickup tube for the pumpout, and I am sure you can guess what the downside is
.
Our boat has been converted to Vacuflushes, so the macerator is connected to one of the seacocks for the old electric aft head. Since we do all our boating in a no-dump zone, I have had to remove the handle for the seacock with it in the closed position to be legal.
No sanitation soapboxes today!
