Without knowing the hx of your boats bottom, other than there isn’t any existing blisters, if you are hauling to paint the bottom would you apply barrier coat?

David Pascoe used to say that Hatteras should have patented the blistering process. But he also said he wouldn't spend money on it as the hulls are thick enough to blister for 1000 years. If there aren't any there I certainly wouldn't me$$ with it.

I wouldn't. My $0.03

You would have to have the current bottom paint removed to be able to barrier coat.
To me the only reason to remove the paint if your not having blister issues is because there's too much paint has built up over the years and it's time to start over.

Wish I would have removed the paint from our hull sides over the winter as it's about time, not nearly as much build up on the bottom.

I have been debating with myself regarding a bottom job. I have no blisters and the boat is hauled every winter but the fact remains that in its 48 year life span a lot of paint has built up. My question to the forum is if I blast it back to clean and apply barrier coat would it be more attractive to a buyer come resale time.

I'll let the estate auction worry about that.

To an educated buyer maybe, but not sure you would recoup the cost.

Unless a briefing from my doc inspires me to implement the 100 mile off shore C4 plan.

When I repowered 2 1/2 years ago, I had the bottom sanded to get rid of the all the layers of paint and had two or three coats of West epoxy rolled on. There was some crazing and small cracks on the old gel coat or whatever barrier was on but the epoxy sealed it all up and so far has held up very well. It took about 8 gallons of resin.

Did you buy yours local? Miami? I found river marine supply has acceptable pricing. Why west marine vs interlux 2000e?
