Ok, reading the last thread I don't know who made my boat Rockwell,AMF, Genmar whatever. I do have a 1971 36C. I went to the boat today and found on the side of the boat that faces the river and the sun that their was a lot of cracking and crazing. The boat has been painted and under that it looks like the old Hatteras White, but, That part is thick like a fairing compound? Under that is I thing the Black fiberglass? It is hard and strong and dose not look to be a problem. What is the "fairing compound"? If I grind it out will it go away or is it further in the glass. I asked the yard manager to look at it and he could not tell either. I am having them get me a price on grinding fairing and painting the hull. Do I need to worry about this happing again and what is causing it. The other side is not bad a few tiny spots but no where close to the port side.
Thanks Dave
