Not with the boat right now but I think I have an older auto pilot 6000. I have been meaning to ask, what would be causing my auto pilot to sway about 5 to 10 degrees when activated. Some days it runs a lot more true than others? Checked the pressure in steering and made sure I have 30 lbs of pressure.

Assume you mean an Autohelm ST6000. I had one in a prior boat, and learned a couple of things. First, locate the gyro, that should have some stickers nearby that mention 'no magnets or electrical devices. Make sure the gyro has not lost a pin and can still 'float'. Next go through the recalibration process, if you have no errors on the screen. Last , you can adjust the sensitivity of the unit to the rudder. Hope that helps.

Thanks Mal. Will take a look when I get back to the boat.
