Asbestos

I was just wondering if some of the earlier Hatteras boats (1960-1970) were built using asbestos.

Seems like those were the heydays for the stuff.

The oem linoleum flooring is asbestos-backed at least through 1980. Don't know about anything else...

But I've never heard it presenting an issue in the sale or compliance of a boat.
As long as asbestos insulation is not friable (loose or deterierating) it's not a problem.

I bet there were other applications for asbestos in the bilge, etc.

Those days they used it for everything...

I wish it was still available for fire blankets and boards..was good stuff if used properly. I used it as akid, that;s a loooooooooooonnnnngggg time ago, and I still don't have one of those TV lawyers ..lol..

It seems all the new drugs are just killing people left right and centre...

That raw water pump needs some attention.
