  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
52' CONVERTIBLE (1983 - 1990)
We picked up our 52 in the middle of a repower. The main beam above the engines had been removed and is in-tact. I also have two stainless steel support poles with a bracket on one end. I can't for the life of me figure out where these support poles went.

Anyone happen to have pics of the engine room of a 52c? They took tons of pics of the engine removal, but all from the top, no pics exist (that I have) of what the engine room looked like pre-beam removal.

I can try to get some later today or tomorrow.

There's a 52c at the port I'm working on.

The question is do you need it back to original or are they different engines going in

No pictures but it sounds like the beam supports the salon deck. I believe the beam is supported by stainless poles that are mounted on the engine stringers. Been a while since I was in a 52C but see what Scott comes up with. There are several 52C owners here so I'm sure you get what you need. What effective. What power is going in?

Not sure if my 55 is different but take a look, see if these help

cant get pics to stay right side up, sorry Rusty

Rusty, open pics and rotate them 360 before uploading and should then be oriented correctly.

either your really short or thats not even close to a 52C engine room.

Its probably a foot lower ceiling

By the fuel filters aft of the engines is a 2x from the stringer to the ceiling.

Im having a jack for the forward area mad to take out the 3/8 sag by the galley in the one up here.

Theres no support between the forward bulkhead and the rear of the engines. YET.

Same exact engines going back in.

Why were the engines removed? They don't usually need to come out unless the block or crank are bad. At that point I'd be looking for better engines. Which 8V92s do you have or was the boat repowered previously?

Thanks for the pic, I definitely do not see the SS poles I have in your pic... wonder if they were added later or if they are not even to this boat?

How sturdy is the floor beneath the galley on Diamond Girl? Does it feel like there should be support there?

Diamond Girl is a two stateroom boat so the galley is down.
