Hatteras Model
40' DOUBLE CABIN-Series I (1986 - 1989)
Have a case of beer for any really good person with fuel lines etc...

Would love the help with a few issues.

Better be careful Russell,

Lots of us may turn into "experts" with that kind of offer :D

Good luck though , hope you find someone.

Replace the copper with new high quality hose and support it well. Use the correct fittings for the valves and hose barbs and the job is just basic plumming.

Please email 1 12 pack for consulting services.

Dang you are too easy! You did not specify a brand so you may get the electronic version of Old Milwalkie, LOL :D

The beer is for the guests on the boat. I drink Red wine and Grand marnier. By the way anyone coming to visit Florida I should have some beer on the boat.

Jeez, i am not that easy, and the beer is up here LOL.

But the help would be appreciated.

What kind of help are you looking for? If you want to do it right and make it last, there are only a few companies that make the right high quality fuel line. You need specific fittings for that paticular make and size of fuel line. Oh....be ready to spend lots of $$$$ on quality hose and fittings. The fittings you have are most likely reuseable so you can purchase that brand of fuel line and save some cash there. You are looking for ABYC rated A1 marine fuel hose

As this is our home, and we sleep on the tank, I want to do this right. I was hoping for a guiding hand as well (First time i did this). The Fuel Lines are on the list to be replaced anyways so.... LOL money at this point is not the primary issue, it is heat and safety as well as a long term fix.

Ok here we go.....1st find out what kind of hose you have and make sure the fittings are the same. Here is a link for what you need http://www.hydraulic-supply.com/pdf/193.pdf (sams has the hose you need). This is the best out there and will work for you. Your old fittings may well work with this stuff. There are special wrenches for the fittings and you should use them instead of a standard wrench. Remove the old line. Now remove fittings from fuel hose. Cut new fuel hose to length. Clean up fittings and install on new hose. Install new hose. Now you only have 50 more lines to go :D

Here is a link that showes how to put the fittings on and how to cut the hose...http://www.bakerprecision.com/aqp12a.htm

There is an insert for a vice that will help with disassembly/assembly. The wernches you use are called line wrenches.

A couple of years ago I changed all my fuel lines from tanks to engines (gas) with aeroquip hoses. I just measured the length and went to Moreland hose in Patchouge NY, they made them up in a couple of minutes. From what I remember it was kind of expensive but it was worth it.

Mesco in NJ could make the hoses for You and there prices are reasonable.

I redid all the oil hoses on Gigabite myself using Aeroquip hose.

It wasn't very hard. Took me a day. I used a cordless sawzall to cut the hose and two wrenches to install the fittings (no vise on board.) Flushed 'em with fuel and installed. No problem at all. Wear some good gloves as the fabric cover will tear the shiz out of your hands.

I ain't paying anyone to make up hoses with reusable fittings - its just simply not that hard. Order the hose (and fittings if yours are nasty) from Hydraulic Supply - that's where I got mine and it was quite reasonable all things considered.

The FC234 hose is A-1 rated and suitable for either fuel or oil. BTW if you talk to guys who do this a lot they'll tell you that you should use copper "flare seals" in those flare fittings with diesel. I never have and also never had airleak problems without using them.... but YMMV.

Okay, got the AJX, now for the fuel lines... It stated that I need to pressure test to twice the operating pressure... How do I go about that? Does not seem that hard... wonder if the marina has a vice...
