Any HOFers at Herringon Harbor?

We're considering leaving Hartge's and moving to Harrington Harbor. Its quite a bit more expensive but seem MUCH nicer...resort like rather than a simple marina/yard. But I'd like to get opinions. Thoughts?

I plan to have my 54 Bertram at Herrington Harbour North or South come September.

I'm headed over there to see what its like this afternoon. South is a grand more a year but its a 60' slip...the slip at North is a 55'. Cost wise, its not a big deal, just want to see which has better amenities/facilities for live aboards. Based on the price quotes I got, I see NO reason to stay where I am now. But it all depends on what I see when we visit.

How far is it to the nearest grocery store? HHS seems like its in a distant suburb of nowhere.

HHS is definitely further to a grocery, probably about 10-15 minutes to the IGA in Deale. But we decided...and we're moving to HHN at the start of April. Its so much nicer than where we are now and not THAT much more (about $1,300 more after live aboard fees) and has a LOT more going for it. If we were weekenders, Hartge's would be fine...but not for live aboards.

Dave, How do you like HHN? Am considering moving marinas, visited HHN last weekend, and was impressed. Am particularly interested in how much work they permit you to do, policy on outside contractors, etc. as my current marina has recently become a bit difficult about all of it. To be clear, i'm not looking to create an industrial site...just the normal painting and varnishing topside. I get along w/ all my marina neighbors and it's just the marina management that are put out since I do the work myself rather than contracting it with their overpriced workforce. Jeff
