  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
48' LRC (1976 - 1981)
From about 1975 to 1984 Hatteras bronze anodized their window frames. I have them on our boat and they are in good condition. I am seeking advice on the protection of the finish and improvement in the appearance from close to a flat finish back to the semi gloss original look. Have talked to one owner that uses Nano-Wax on his and they look good. Talked to another person that used a commercial resin coating marketed specifically for restoring the finish on bronzes anodized aluminum. I am interested in what other approaches have been used both successful and unsuccessful. Most important, I do not want to do anything that will damage the anodizing. Thanks

I wax mine but they need a coat every year to continue to look good.

I used to wax mine. I also tried Flitz. The latest stuff I am using makes them look like new and is a simple "wipe it on" job. This stuff is in an aerosal can and is called "Shiela Shine". Just spray some on a paper towel and wipe it on the frames. It also works great on those aluminum edge strips on the flybridge and OK on stainless. Try it, you'll like it.:)
