The always excellent Palm Beach International Boat Show turned into one heck of a Wet T-Shirt Contest last Thursday! The winds howled Friday and Saturday...but so what...It was a great show anyway!

On Saturday, I ventured cautiously up into the Florida Bible Belt for the annual Sunnyland Antique Boat Festival in the Tavares/Mt. Dora area, about a half hour north of Orlando. Saturday is the only day of the festival when all the 200 plus boats are there... so the place was mobbed!

While I was there I stumbled upon a Stunningly Beautiful, Hand Built, All Mahogany Runabout that I just had to share with y'all...

This "Cuuse-Craft" is a "Brand New" Replica of a Classic Chris Craft wood runabout. What really blew me away was the Incredible Workmanship. Premium Quality Materials. Master level joiner work. I can't say enough good things about this boat. Here's the real surprise (carefully check the photo below)...

IT'S JUST FOR KIDS!!! 8ft long. Fully operational with a direct inboard electric trolling motor. The perfect little boat for a 7-11 year old who's too young for their first 13' Boston Whaler. Talk about impressing your friends! Complete with a set of lift rings so she can be stored on deck right next to the "grown-up" dinghy! SCREW THAT TOY MERCEDES!

I looked at this little marvel for quite a while...so wishing I was a little kid again! Every little detail was perfection.

Built by a company called Crusse'n Classics in the 704 area code. I'm told there is an order backlog on these. I thought the quality far eclipsed the $15,000 price tag.

And it would teach your kids "responsibility". Imagine how "GROUNDED" you'd be for even scratching it!

And when they get older, you can put a gas engine into it and see it plane.....:)

Fifteen thousand is a fantastic bargain. Being a woodworker I can appreciate the amount of work that went into that little jewel. Can you imagine that same boat at about 18 feet... He'd probably sell a bunch of them.
