Alternator belts question

I noticed that the outside alternator belt (of the 2 belts) on both engine is much slacker than the inner belt. And definitely would need tightening. Before I start loosening the 2 bolts on the alternator and tighten things, I would like to as if this is a normal phenomena?
I suspected that after I am done, the inner belt is likely to be too tight.. so I am preparing to replace both belts with new ones, despite that the current belts are 14-months old and have seen little action.

Would really appreciate your comments.

Do us a favor, reach down to the other belt run, What belts are loose and tight?
I bet a (cheap) cup of coffee, the other belt is slack a bit.

if you change belts ask your parts person for a matched pair of belts. they come as a set and are taped together.
