Greetings folks,

I am doing a more comprehensive than usual engine and trans oil change. Taking more time to redo filter canisters and new hoses etc.
When I pulled the Allison M20R filter screen I found some debris. The boat works fine - not that I get any comfort from that. To be thorough I pulled the trans sump off and found a little more debris.
I attach a couple of photos - anyone have any clue as to what this might be?
I have sent a mail to Acadian asking them but thought I would ask the assembled genii on this forum as well.
Any wry humor along the way is welcome given I suspect I'll be pulling the trans.....
Thanks and regards, Bill

The top item looks like a bearing sheild. You could likely be fine with out it, the question is why did it fall off.

Maybe a thrust bearing?

Thank you for your replies. I spoke with Brian this afternoon. He said they are NOT Allison parts - he said they have been introduced somewhere along the way. He said taking the sump pan off and not finding anything else is good. On the basis that the trans / motors are running fine no need to tear it down. Yippee yi yay!
Regards, Bill.
