60' MOTOR YACHT (1987 - 1989)
Up to the flybridge windscreen...

Has anyone hinged the arch on one of these ?

We couldn’t fit under a 21’ bridge with 1035 gallons of fuel, 325 gallons of water and 225 gallons of whatever in the holding tank. We carry a 795lbs tender as well. The leading edge of the arch was just a few inches short. Hope that helps.

So...
If the arch is at/near 21 ft, if the arch gets hinged (al la Sky's), the I ought to get Air Draft below 19?
Anyone know what the FBrdg wind screen height is?

Possibly, depends on how you hinge it and if you have a mast with a radar perch. If memory serves Hatteras puts the top of the screen around 17. With our arch removed and sitting up right on the sole of the flybridge we cleared the 19’ bridge on the Cal-Sag. Starlink didn’t. Long story but no damage and was able to surf the interwebs once we retrieved dishy and remounted her.

I did a crude check on my 67 CMY (DM model) to understand what it would take to (someday) clear 21’ to get through the eastern part of the Erie Canal to central NY (near The ‘Cuse). At about half fuel when I measured in the water, I would definitely have to hinge the radar arch and I remember thinking it might be a game-time decision to pull the flybridge windscreen too. Full fuel and water would help. Water bladders would help as would some heavyweight guests. If you’re considering the loop (I wasn’t), I think the bridge in Chicago is closer to 19-19.5. Also if you have a DK model, do you have 12v-71s like my 1988 DM? And does your running gear go all the way back to the transom of the cockpit? If not, Idl assume it’s an aftermarket cockpit and that might impact your buoyancy/displacement and air draft one way or another.
