Air conditioner pump

A new problem! The ac/heat recycling pump has started to come on and off as if there is a ac unit on, but none of the units have been turned on. Anyone have a solution on what to start looking for. At a loss. In Kentucky lake area and not sure how confident someone might understand the workings of hatteras ac units

What A/C system and controls do you have? This is usually a bad relay in either the control box (near aunits control panel) for one of your units or the pump relay box (centrally located near the compressors). I had both happen at one time or another. Go around to each and listen, you can hear it clicking. Someone familiar with your brand of AC units should be able to help.

Edit : OK, I went to your profile (it would be helpful if you included your boat model and year in your posts). On my 56 the central pump relay box was in the generator room on the aft bulk head a little to port. But again it could also be a bad control box associated with your control for one of your units.

Sorry about the omission of the boat. It is a 1983 56ft. And thanks I will check those things out you suggested.

Ill bet that it's just a bad relay. You can try turning all of the units off except the ac pump, and then turning one unit on at a time to see which one is causing the problem. Once you have narrowed the problem down to one unit you can either check or replace the relays. Worst case you at least narrow the problem down to one unit and save the tech some time and you money.
