48' YACHT FISHERMAN (1972 - 1975)
Hi All,

Happy New Year.

Our intercom system hasn't worked since we bought the boat but I'd kind of like to get them working if it's a small investment.

The company that made them AIphone is still around and has provided me with some info, but I can't find the power source to the system and neither AIphone nor Hatteras seems to know where it would have been mounted.

Does anyone have knowledge in this area.

Thanks.

On my 70 ft Stephens it was mounted behind the L shaped seating in the wheelhouse. Found it by accident whilst removing a vertical cushion.

Thanks Chuck,

Any thoughts on what the cause of problem might be or where to look for issues. Basically the phones are dead.

Hi All,

I thought I'd float this thread one more time on the off chance someone might have logged on that can help.

On our 43DC, the main panel for the intercom was mounted inside the flybridge, behind the helm. Have you checked there?

On My 43DC I have the Bogen TQ-6A. I don't know if your unit operates the same as mine or not. My control box is mounted in the bilge on the side of the stairs on the port side leading down to the aft cabin. It's at the rear of the port engine along side the port strainer in a box about 12 X 12 X 2.5 inches. I have never had an issue with the unit. It is low voltage 12v DC to the phones. Or powered by a 120/12VDC power supply. It shouldn't be to hard to trouble shoot. Each phone has a particular color for the phone in use. I don't know if your unit operates the same as mine. It could be close. I have my manual, if it would help.
