Aft Hatteras emblem removal...replacement

I have ordered and received new Hatteras stick on emblems from Sams for the aft side's of the boat. I would welcome any impute concerning the safe removal of the old one's.......I'm thinking heat gun...etc. I'm concerned with paint coming off with the old one!

I haven't removed mine but have observed the removal of quite a few stick-on or sticker-type adhesives from my father's race cars- using a hair dryer- presumably less risky on the paint than a heat gun. Just a thought.
