Hey guys

My dad talked me into pulling out the old fridge on the back deck (It's been on the list but not THAT high up, lol). Well, it's out now and the cabinet wants to be repaired. That trim around the fridge was glued on with something good cause the wood pretty much came apart on removal.

Anyway, my initial question is how does the whole cabinet come out? We've successfully pulled/tilted it a good 1" off the bulkhead but is seems 'stuck' at the front edge to the deck (lower edge that is aft to the boat not fore). What's the trick here? I tried kinda prying VERY carefully between the cabinet and the deck (front edge) and the deck flexes a little but it won't let go. There's no physical fastener used here, is there?

Thanks for your help.

My cabinet, WHITE, below - Ang's cabinet, WOODGRAIN, too

Oh the memories!!!! LOL Mine was held to the bulkhead behind it with three LARGE screws which I used to secure the new bar. :) They were up at the top of the cabinetry, behind the finished side. I had a lot of dead space behind the finished, usable area and the bulkhead behind it. I also had fasteners in the diagonal support on the side, but I don't think you have that on your boat since you have wing doors and walk around decks. I looked to see if I had some photos that showed the fasteners specifically, but I don't. I had no fasteners to the floor, but the toe kick was sealed with caulk to the floor. By the way, if you're going to build a new cabinet, save your toe kick piece if you have one because that will give you the pattern that matches the curvature of the floor. That was VERY helpful for me not to have to reinvent that wheel.

If you're stuck on the floor, try removing the bottom of the cabinet to see what's under it. It could have a "frame" down there to which it may have been secured to keep it from sliding.

When I removed the cabinet on Makin' Memories it was attached to the "Kick Plate",or base, with several screws from inside, the kick plate is then screwed to the deck.

Thanks kindly - will have another go at her!
