The 37c an 43c threads about steering and bow proud issues got me to thinking about strakes.
Years ago at the Monterey yard they were experimenting with different strake additions on a 52c, never found out what happned.
People have been adding them to a lot of Carolina custom sportfish boats over the last few years. Many of those boat bow steer because they just do not have enough surface area in the bow (pointy) to hold it up coming down see. Or at least that's how I understand it.
Have noticed a lot of interesting strakes in different positions on the bottoms of many of the new custom builds.
Just have never managed to learn very much about them, etc.
