Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I have been offered a super deal on two props for my Hatteras... More than fair.... But the props are off a Hatteras with 2" shafts My Hatteras has 1.75" shafts... Are there any adapters to make them fit my boat??? Have been checking online and haven't found any, yet remember reading someplace there are.... Any help is appreciated... I cannot say how happy I am on the deal a fellow boater here has offered me

I've heard there are tapered sleeves that are made for such a change. I never looked deep into, rather I bought the proper size. How many blades? Pitch? Would also be a question. How much? I guess I'm asking to many questions sorry.

Any good prop shop can get them. You probably want to get locally in case you need additional work too.

FWIW

I think I'm pulling my 21 x 25 4 blades.

They just don't get me the top end on my 41c.

1.75 shafts if your interested pm me .

Don't do it 1/4 is too much difference I know a guy that used bushing sleeves and had his shaft snap at the keyway. Plus your insulating the props from the shafts electrolysis will eat the props up.

I borrowed a set of props, to speed up a short haul, with 2 1/4" bore and used them on a 2" shaft for for about 480 hours. I had no problems, adaptors are bronze, I don't see how the continuity is interrupted.

Bronze and plastic adapters are available. Used them a couple times just to test run different/sample propellers, for me they would only be for an emergency or very limited situation. It's already hard enough to get props lapped on correctly without any extra pieces.

I've used the bronze ones for hundreds of hours, no issues. I lapped the adapters on and then the props, quick to do.
