  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
The former owner of NE'r had a 110VAC pump in the lazarette with a dedicated through hull intake (in the ER) that he used for tuna tubes in Cabo. The pump had been removed but there electrical and plumbing fittings are still there. I am fitting the swim step with a removeable bait tank, and want to use the set-up if I can, rather than running a new line from my 12V bait tank pump on the other side of the ER. This will allow me to run both with no compromise in flow for longer overnight trips, as my dedicated tank is 1 scoop max and has a poor flow pattern.
I have looked around, and really have only found 1 Jabsco pump made for pools/spas, and the craftsman models at Sears with reasonable flow rates. Most AC pumps I can find are the monster "well" pumps, or sump pumps. Anyone have a suggestion?
Is it ok to use something intended to live on land, as long as it is wired and set up correctly?
Thanks

Paul, Grainger has what you need, and cheap. Give me a call this weekend, and I'll read the part number off the pump I'm using. It's water contact parts are all stainless, carbon, or plastic, and it's designed to pump seawater. It's a 3/4 hp centrifugal, and flows like a champ, and I think I paid only $140 or so. Forget Groco and Jabsco, their stuff is a ripoff.

I have used the March submersable pumps that are used for A/C . They last for years, are quiet and low amp draw.

Hey Luckydave,

Write that number down and post it if you think about it....

Thanks,

Capt Ned

I picked up a lightly used one this week, and will be installing it today. Thanks anyway Dave.

Captned, I looked at the AC bait well pump today, and the way it's installed the part# is buried. If you want to drop by an remove/install it.............
I'll try to look at my catalog at work tomorrow, and see if I can remember which one I bought. The only thing is, my memory is as old as the rest of me....
