  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
My AC drive oil pressure gauge sender does not work [part no6463664].Sams does not have any.Has anyone tried another make of sender for a dual station AC gauge set up on a hatteras 53.I am not bothered if the reading is not accurate but it is nice to know when on the flybridge that there is pressure.

Those are very hard to find -- they were 10 years ago and are worse now.

I'll keep my eyes open and PM you if I see anything....

Try Don Wendlich at Isspro, INC, the gauge maker on the West Coast. They are in Oregon or WA state. He can probably make you or sell you what you need.

Another good potential source is Lauderdale Compass and Speedometer:

Give them a call they are very knowledgeable about Hatts.

Not sur if it is what you want but on ebay motors type in Hatteras on the second page there are a set of gages oil amp temp just a suggestion TIM

I just replaced both of my gauges along with the senders. I bought VDO Viewline. My senders had failed, but the gauges still worked. For dual stations, it will cost you about $150/engine.

Just to verify - the VDO's are dual station, where a single sensor in each engine provides the signal for the upper and lower helm gauge (so it's just plug/play with the oem wiring)?

Yes, only my understanding though, since I installed a single station. The sensor is different for dual stations, the gauges are the same. And of course, you have to match the sensors to the gauges. I couldn't find a sensor that would work with my old AC gauges.

Yeah the AC senders are an oddball combination of coefficient and direction of change for increase/decrease in pressure and when I looked years ago nobody made anything compatible. I managed to buy a box of senders on eBAY but they went with the boat -- I did need one of them, so it was a good thing I had found them, but resigned myself to changing out both senders and gauges if I wound up with a bad sender and no replacement.

I did some research re the VDO on their site and, as noted, they do have dual station pressure senders that would work just like oem on a dual station boat - just buy the sensor and two gauges. BUT, for some reason that I can't figure out, they don't seem to have dual station temperature sensors. Maybe I missed the listing but I couldn't find it.

They are the 325-XXX part numbers. Look at www.egauges.com

AHA! Thanks!

Wish they had temp gauges that only went to around 220 instead of 250 so the range of the scale would be more useful for old DDs but oh well...
