AC condensor collecting water

Hi all.

It started with a random water drop from the port engine room overhead. Turns out the source is from the air handler/ condensor unit to the port side of the helm. The tray which is the bottom of the condensor is full of water and is overflowing. It's very hot as of yesterday and that unit in particular has been running flat out with no rest. I'm thinking this is as simple as the condensate drain point is plugged. Ideas on where this is on the unit? Other than this the unit runs fine. Appreciate the help. Thanks.

Most of the condensate drains in the salons run to one of the sea chests in the engine room.

This is pretty common unfortunately as in many case the drain hose is installed too flat under or near the air handler. Access is usually difficult because of the cabinetry. Over time dust and dirt end up cloggin the hose.

Sometimes you can get away by putting a piece of hose in the drain hole in the tray and blow thru. That's if the drain hole is on the side and accessible. On some air handler the drain is in the center, underneath and you have to reach under to disconnect it.

Or you can try to clear it from the other at the sea chest, maybe by using a shop vac to pull the dirt out. Blowing air thru from the discharge ends isn't ideal as you will be blowing the crap back in the pan.

All. Thanks for the input. Drain hose was plugged. Access from the air handler completely impossible yet was able to get debris removed from the exhaust end of the hose at the sea chest. Again much appreciated.
