  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
The saloon AC condensate drain is stopped up. I accessed the T in the ceiling of the fwd head and tried to clear it with a shop vac. It didn't clear. Any suggestions on to clear the drain?

Thanks

Compressed air?

Hose! Makes a mess but its the only way to wash the crap out.Lots of towels too. Back flush then fill the condensate pan until the mud stops coming out

Thanks,
Think I will try a water hose. Any idea where, how to access the down stream end of the drain.
Thanks

I have the same issue and no way could I clear it, had to redirect to the shower pan. will watch with interest if a cure appears.

If compressed air doesn't work, then I suppose that you could try back flushing with a water hose inserted at the waterline drain thru-hull from outside of the hull - and have plenty of towels and a shop vac ready at the inside unit condensate pan - definitely a two person operation.

I've used compressed air and water. Water is the best option if air won't clear it up. I would flush it out first then try to clean it out by back flushing as rsmith posted. Not familiar with your set up but my drains are routed to the shower sumps and my previous Hatt had them plumbed to the seachest.

I used a garden hose with low volume. The hose end fit over the discharge hose once I disconnected it from the 90 at the condensate pan. I got a free flow of water through the forward most port thru hull just above the waterline. I also attached a short piece of 5/8 tube to the condensate 90 and used the garden hose to back flush into the pan. Looks like I have free flow there as well.

Regards

It is the fwd thru hull on port. mine is accessed from fwd cabin it looks like air line hose, , I had mud wasp set up came just inside the thru hull, I used a hose from the outside and it cleared.....
