Somebody finally figured out how to get a pop-out camper to float:

More details here:

I'm not sure if this idea really has practical application. Would it make a good trolling platform? You could certainly get a lot of spread on the ouriggers. Can we get the extensions to lift and lower so we can just float that Blue Marlin onboard?

On the plus side; not just your seat cushion, but the entire seat can be used as a floatation device.

interstingly complex!

Lazzara came up with something similar on their 75 and 90 footer with a balcony / terrace opening outward off the master.

looks to belong on the ash heap of stupid boat ideas.

I had to rewind back to the part about: "it could be your's for 830,000 POUNDS!!!"
For that kind of money, I would buy another Hatt (58 YF?) with my son as skipper to follow me on our 53 and go for many, many cruises and fishing trips before we ran out of change.
Oh yeah, then if we wanted to sell one or both we would still be ahead rather than this boat.

Having said all that, must say, what a great looking vessel and like all new concepts, it will take a while before the concept becomes more affordable.

I just wished the woman was in a bikini.....

Was that in the hull, or superstructure? I could see a balcony that extends from the superstructure or even the deck for added space while in port. Opening the hull while on the water.... not so sure.

I have no idea about the magazine. I first saw it in one of the commercial trade publications and went and found the video and Wider's website to post here.
