For those familiar with the Ocochobee I am looking for any places to hang out while on a business trip to Clewiston. I nave to get to Roland Martins marina for a meeting with customers and the wors part is I will be traveling by land. Is there a place anyone could recomend for a decent dinner or some drinks with customers?

I travel to Clewiston once a week on business from Clearwater.
The CLEWISTON INN is about the only place to have drinks.
It's a country town! I usually take care of things and hit the road.

Or you could just hang out at the Tiki Bar at Roland Martin's place with "Little Man", the self-proclaimed best dockmaster in the world!

I think I will get my Fox Sportsnet shirt and FLW bass hat out so I can fit in. Sounds like it could be some fun.

You've got the right idea! There are some real interesting locals that hang out at the Tiki Hut. ENJOY!!!

Make sure you get an eye full of "Little Man" when he lasso's a cleat!

My grandfather used to talk about the Clewiston Inn from back in the "good ole days". Apparently it was quite a nice place back when it was built. Anyway, he went on a boat trip with us once in the 1980's when he was in his 80's. He was really excited to take us all to the Clewiston Inn for dinner since he remembered it so fondly from the 1930's or 40's or whenever it was he was there last. So, we all got out of our boat clothes and "dressed" for dinner. When we got there, there was just a buffet and it was horrible. No one could definatively even identify the mystery meat for sure. He was so disappointed. I hope it's better now than it was 20 years ago.

scott, why not call or signal the Clewiston chamber of commerce, i think you can get them with 6 drum beats 1 second interval and 10 smoke puffs 5 second interval. get a sticker for your cherokee that says "if you aint a bass fisherman then you aint shit".

I was going to drive the infinity but I may grab the pickup now.

It is definitely a F-150 town. I am heading down Tuesday. I usually
catch lunch in Labelle. The black eye peas and rice are the house
special. It's a long way from the west coast yacht clubs, but the people
are the nicest that you'll ever meet.

You must be talking about Flora & Ella's restaurant.
I heard that a place opened at the old Hendry Isles golf course that is in between Clewiston & Labelle. It sits right on the river. I know nothing about it though.

Steve,
Can't beat Flora's!
I saw the other place. The locals haven't taken me there yet.
So, I can't recommend it.

Is Flora and Ella's still there? They used to have the best pies around. That meringue was as least 4 inches high. Mmmm, I can taste one now.

Yes Flora & Ella's is still there, They used to be in a little place there on I think it is Main St. near the bridge. But they moved to a new location on Highway 80 that has been a few years ago now. They still have the big pies.
