A/C Loud clicking

Searched the threads and didn't see anything previously posted like my issue. A/C in the forward Salon will work fine for hours, even days before I hear a very load "clicking" (like a relay/contactor) coming from the starboard ER. The noise is coming from the associated compressor. I have to shut down the breaker, give it a few minutes and reset the breaker. It will run for a while and again the clicking begins. I pulled the electronics cover next to the compressor and can not quite isolate the source, but I am sure it originates there.

I had an A/C guy look at it today, he called to tell me the compressor is going out and needs to be replaced.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Note, while the "clicking" is engaged the unit appears to be functioning normally.
