Have to move a 3 dial cruise air control head. It has a thin copper tube from split unit to a "colder/warmer" dial that has no spare length to extend. How would I extend? Can it be replaced with a thermostat? Any ideas on a more elegant solution? Thanks in advance. Mark

There are a. Umber of conversion kits that can be installed to get rid of the old mechanical controls… well worth the $$

I think you are talking about the capillary tube that goes to the thermostat. I don’t think you can lengthen the tube, but I could be wrong.

That tube is sealed and cannot be lengthend. If it is cut it will not work anymore. Switching the control to digital is a good upgrade.

I converted all my units, simple install with their mother board, and control display. I have had no problems for many years.

The tube is probably filled with mercury. Don't cut it
