What is the acceptable compression test range for a 735 HP GM 8v92 - 1988 vintage? I have heard 400psi minimum, 435psi minimum and 450psi minimum. Which is correct?

450 psi at sea level and 600 RPM. The variation you mentioned is most likely based on elevation. Higher elevation results in lower compression PSI. There also shouldn't be more than 25 PSI variation between cylinders.

That's what I've been told except there shouldn't be more than 15PSI between adjacent cylinders. I've also heard 450 is preferred minimum but 435 is OK if the rest are fine.
