  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Hi all I was hoping some of the 43dc owners here could help me out a bit, I'm trying to confirm the fuel capacity of each fuel tank on my 80 43 dc , with a queen master(tank underneath) berth aft, and smaller tank in aft e-room .build labels on both are unreadable, notes from PO state 220 gal aft tank 63gal fwd tank I was wondering if this was correct? Thanks!

Mine are 280 aft 90 fwd if the p.o. has what he stated,, he may have shortened up fuel pick ups. known to happen

What Dennis said and ours is a 79:cool:

Thanks! I may have misunderstood the note maybe it meant 60 gal left after the aft tank read empty.

Andy,

We ran our aft tank to what we thought was empty last year and had about 60 gals remaining. I believe the centerline gauge is much more accurate.

My 43DC is a '72 with 6-71`N's and there is a tank under either berth in the aft cabin, so two tanks. 170 Gals ea so about 340 gals total. Just so happens that it is about 1" per 10 gals on the stick, so 17.5"'s when full, ea tank.

If I went back in my records, I know how much fills her when empty. I blame the leaking fuel dumping into the bunker, from a loose new fuel line installed by the Hatt dealer (didn't help). I ran out about 1.5miles from the fuel dock. Actually, failure to fill up before getting underway was a major contributing culprit. Super lucky it was a calm, nice day. Yes, got the line tightened. 12 years ago.

on my 1979 the specs say 92 in keel tank and 283 in aft tank under berth - total 375.

Thanks for the replies ,it kinda bothered me not knowing exactly the amount of fuel I was suppose carry. I had looked up specs that were posted on other 43s on yacht world but they varied a good bit. Good thing is tanks are larger than I thought.
