  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Copied from NOAA Tropical weather this AM.

A LARGE AREA OF CLOUDINESS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE EASTERN GULF
OF MEXICO...ASSOCIATED WITH A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE...HAS CHANGED
LITTLE IN ORGANIZATION DURING THE PAST SEVERAL HOURS. UPPER-LEVEL
WINDS ARE CURRENTLY UNFAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT. HOWEVER...
CONDITIONS ARE FORECAST TO BECOME MORE CONDUCIVE LATER TODAY...AND
THE SYSTEM COULD BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION DURING THE NEXT DAY
OR SO. THIS SYSTEM HAS A HIGH CHANCE...60 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A
TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES SLOWLY
NORTHWESTWARD. INTERESTS ALONG THE ENTIRE NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO
COAST SHOULD MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS DISTURBANCE.

This won't leave much time if it does develop.

Regards,

Now 70%?

They had a blob down off the yucatan yesterday but I thought the area off the west coast looked more ripe. Sure enough.

Hopefully it won't have enough time over water to gain too much strength.

CNN) -- Southern states cast a wary eye on the Gulf of Mexico on Friday following forecasts of a tropical depression that could drench the coast over the holiday weekend.

Major oil producers in the region evacuated workers as New Orleans braced for possible flooding and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal declared a state of emergency.

The city -- much of which sits below sea level -- is likely to see 8 to 10 inches of rain in the next few days, Mayor Mitch Landrieu told reporters.

The National Hurricane Center maintained a tropical storm warning Friday for an area stretching from Pascagoula, Mississippi, to Sabine Pass, Texas. The warning includes New Orleans.

A tropical storm warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected in the warning area within 24 hours.

The tropical depression was 240 miles (385 kilometers) southwest of the mouth of the Mississippi River, the center said Friday in a 5 a.m. ET advisory. It had maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.

"The depression is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 10 to 15 inches over Southern Louisiana, Southern Mississippi and Southern Alabama through Sunday with possible isolated maximum amounts of 20 inches," the center said.

Texas is praying it will come ashore and give them some rain after the longest drought ever.
