Nicer flybridge on 54, but smaller aft deck I think.

I have owned both. 1979 53 Classic & 1987 54 MY. The 54 is a much larger boat. Agree the bridge on the 54 is much more comfortable than the 53. The U shaped aft seat is a great added feature. The aft on both are about the same sq feet, just different shape. If you have a real interest in either, I would be happy to discuss by phone.

I guess it depends which 53 you are comparing to. The 54 of the vintage you re mentionning doesn’t have an aft deck. It has a useless balcony about 1/3 the size of the 53

Not the 54MY. I think you're speaking of the 54ED.

Sky is correct. We have a 54ED and the aft is strictly for line handling and using the swim platform ladder.
