  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
I am trying to get a feel from other 53/63 owners what the acceptable waterline is for the STBD gen exhaust. Mine is 1/4-1/2 covered at anchor. Should the waterline of the exhaust be completely exposed from water?

We run a little bow heavy as aft deck water needs to be pushed into scuppers as we took davit and rib off bridge #1800lbs and on the bow we have a cablemaster and some weight

My gen exhaust stays completely above the waterline no matter the loading.

Mine kisses the waterline at times and has never been a problem. I have a remote temp gauge etc. and all has been fine. Just make sure your exhaust line can't siphon back to the engine!

I sent you a PM.

our 58yf is a couple of inches below the waterline. never had any issues.
