53MY Convert Ladder to Stairs

Has anyone converted the flybridge ladder to stairs? We are searching for our next boat, and we have 2(sometimes 3) medium-to-large dogs. Our Uniflite 42DC has stairs everywhere, which we all navigate fine. Looked at a 43MY last weekend, and that has all stairs also, but we were hoping for a little more room. The 48MY would be good, but there seems to be quite a few more 53MY out there for sale. The ladder to the flybridge is the only real sticking point for the 53MY. It looks like a salon window could be removed and stairs integrated that would pass through the salon. Of course a larger opening in the flybridge deck would be needed. FYI-at this point, we are only interested in boats with stabilizers.

You could look at the Viking and Ocean MY's for examples. They use stairs instead of ladders. Here's a link to an Ocean local to me that uses stairs. You could probably do something similar on a Hatteras.

Yes, that might be an option that doesn't require cutting a bigger opening.
