  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' EXTENDED DECKHOUSE (1983 - 1988)
More photos will be forthcoming.

Douglas, here's your new 53.

Just checked out your photo's. This must be killing you to sell her. She is beautiful.

The photos so far do not do her justice. More will be posted in the next few days.

Thanks - my dream is to cruise on a boat like this in retirement, living aboard part or full time. Reality is, however, that retirement is quite a ways off, and it doesn't seem to make sense to try and hang onto her until then.

That's why I move up to Hatteras. I have 11 months until retirement. This will give me time to make it mine from top to bottom. Once that happens the long distance cruising will begin.

I'm looking for a 80's 53my but I would love to get aboard and take a look, problem is I have zero time for the next 3 weeks.

This is a very nice boat; I've seen her on a number of occasions and she is a lovely 53. Has had a lot of loving attention and updates. Well worth a look. I do not have a dog in the hunt here, but since she's local and I know the owner, I've been aboard a few times.

This should get the fence sitters attention. Sure are a lot of them out there. If this is as nice as the comments it won't last till spring.

I'm sure she has been well cared for and I plan on having a look, as I mentioned I'm looking for an 80's era but won't cross anything off my list. Would, like to see some better eng room pics.

Thanks for all the supportive comments. Scott came by yesterday to take some more pics including engine rooms. This is where I'm thankful that I had the engines, ERs, and bilges cleaned and painted last summer. Not an inexpensive project but now I'm thinking "that was worth doing."

Cinderella has been sold to a lovely lady and her gentleman!

I encourage the new owners to reach out to this outstanding forum of folks for the generous support and camaraderie that Hatteras owners provide- Hatteras people are the best!!

Eric has been awesome during this entire process, and I'm sure there have been at least few times where I've been a little high maintenance.

Best of luck to the new owners- enjoy your boat!

The very first people to see her. That's how nice Cheryl's boat is. Congrats to the new owners.

Congrats and best of luck with the search. A nice quick sales speaks volumes for the value of a well kept boat, realistic pricing and the right broker.

This boat is VERY well kept, which the surveyor commented on. Also Cheryl's expertise in running and docking her. Cheryl, you need another boat.

Guys- thanks so much for the kind words- I can't tell you how much that means to me. Like each of you with your boats, I took a great deal of pride in Cinderella; she gave me so much joy, and a lot of learning. I can't wait to see what the next chapter holds! Will update.

Have just listed my 1971 53 MY for sale with Eric at Bayport.

Certainly a very tough decision but since I no longer live aboard, I think it's time to "downsize."

Check her out or contact Eric, and I'm happy to answer any questions.

If you could "downsize", what would you downsize to? I have a 1981 43 DCMY for sale. Feel free to contact me if interested. Jay.

Having had a 44 TC prior to my 53MY, I'm kind of wanting to move away from the motor yacht for now. I'm also looking to pick up a good deal of speed. David and I both have pretty demanding jobs right now and I'd like to be able to get to some further away cruising destinations. If we can do that quicker, that extends the places we can go in the time we have. With Cinderella's cruising speed it was hard for me to even get out of the Chesapeake. I didn't in the time I had her even though we went a lot of places.

That being said, I'm getting ready to survey a Tiara 4000 Express next week. Fingers crossed.

You can't beat the MY for comfort and amenities though, so I can see going back to one for cruising in retirement. It's just quite a way's off for me.
