The red light on the shower sump will not go out unless I turn off the breaker. Do you think the float switch is stuck ? Does anyone know where the sump pump is located ? Underneath the carpet in the hall way ? Thanks for any help.

Something may be stock in the pressure tube. Once you have pumped out try flushing the holding tank two or three times. That may dislodge the item. If that is not the case you may need to replace the sending unit. Not sure what type of Hatteras you own so I cannot help you with location or how to. I just replaced mine last month because of the same issue.

He's talking shower sump. Mine is under the bed in the aft master.

Mine is also under the master bed and usually can hear it running when on. When I first got the boat the pump got stuck on like you mentioned and I disconnected the float switch to shut it off.

Yes, probably the float switch stuck/defective. As noted, the sump is under the queen bed in the master. Our 53 has flooring in that space and the sump is underneath that via a large access panel but based n boat logs, it appears per the boat's logbook that that flooring was added by the first owner though it looks hatt-like in construction/color. So possibly there is no flooring there normally. In that case, the sump will be immediately visible when you open the large access panel under the mattress.

Thanks for your help going to check it out now . I assume it's 32 volt ?

Yep, 32V but the voltage doesn't matter with "normal" switches like the typical Rule-types. They will work with any voltage. Don't know if that's true with other types of switches, like the Ultras...

It's a rule float switch that was stuck. As always thanks for the help.

I am so sorry. I read this about 11:00 last night and thought you meant the holding tank. To much wine and to late in the evening to try and help someone. Again my apologies.
