  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
41' TWIN CABIN (1965 - 1971)
Take a guess:

How many 53 Classic MY's are on the market (on YachtWorld) right now?

How many 53' Classic MY's have sold (per soldboats.com) to date in 2012?

Note: This does NOT include 53' ED's or 53' YF's

I will say 40 and 15.

My WAG: 30 and 11

Hi All,

I'll take 50 and 12 !!!!!

I'll go with 35 listed and 7 sold

Don't keep us in suspense......it's killing me.....

I think 50 listed with 5 sold.

What about average asking vs average sold price? I'd say 175K ask and 90K sold

Tom is the closest. 30 for sale now, and 10 sold since Jan 1, 2012. What this means in marketing terms is that at the current demand - there is, right now 3 years worth of available inventory.

Good WAG Tom!

Thanks Eric! Once in a while a blind squirrel finds an acorn. :)

It would be interesting to see some examples of years and sold prices of those 53's. (hint, hint)

Sold pricing will take a little research in order to pick out the Classics from the ED's and YF's. I do know off the top of my head what 2 of the 10 Classics sold for - a 1970 with original VT370 Cummins sold for $130K and a 1980 with low hour 871ti's stabilized sold for $150K.

Im one,trying to sell 84 Classic,165 K or best offer ?

I plan on retiring July 1st,and this boat will be gone, plan on just keep lowering it,till someone finds the price interesting ?

Phil, is your boat listed online with pictures. If so, I would like to send to a friend.

Hi All,

Art, I found it on boat trader.com. There are more pictures in Phil's HOF gallery than in the listing.

I think the listing mentions there's more to come.

I'm quite familiar with Phil's boat. She is a beauty. If I recall correctly, she is stabilized and has a bow thruster. Paint is very nice as she has been shed kept forever. A similar 53 Classic sold recently in Jacksonville, Fl for $155K and she was NOT stabilized and did NOT have a bow thruster.

IMO Phil's boat should be worth $165K.

Thank you Eric, you said it all for me,being shed kept has made a BIG difference on JACE

Hello Phil

I sent you a private mail message please let me know how to contact you

Cheers

If I can get my current boat sold I would definately be interested in seeing this boat. I have been planning on a 53 Classic for several years and this one is now on the list to investigate further.

The upsate NY location could be a concern. Anyone have an opinion on the best route to the TN river from there? A forward (counter clockwise) or reverse loop?
