53'-58' MY or YF. need master shower drain acess hatch location

Well, after pulling my hair out trying to find the leak at the floor of the companion way wall next to the master shower, I am now forced to cut the floor and inspect the shower drain. I need the exact location of the hatch so I can cut an access panel .If you can, please include pictures to help me along. You know, measure twice, cut once... thanks

Based on your message, I'm assuming you have pulled the carpeting/whatever to expose the oem plywood flooring and found there is no access hatches already present? Our 1980 53 has access panels specifically for that purpose - to replace the shower drains/hoses. They appear OEM but I guess it's possible they were cut by the PO.

I have pics at home that should show you what you need but at the moment I'm in TX and my laptop does not have them. I'll be returning home a week from today and should be able to find them though I suspect by then you will have already discovered/been given the info that you need.

Thanks for the reply Jim. I need to cut away the teak and holly floor to get to the plywood flooring. I need to know where to make that cut. I would appreciate your pics and notes. Thanks!
