On my 52, there are 4 tanks. Your tank configuration might be slightly different given the aft cockpit. With the Detroit Diesel Mains, there is a manifold in the engine room that allows you to select the SOURCE and DESTINATION tank (Not sure if this is different w/CAT mains, but imagine its similar) for the engine mains. The Generator only pulls/returns from/to the FWD tank. For moving fuel around and fuel polishing purposes, I have two inline fuel transfer / priming pumps that move about 10gpm.

If you do not have a set of engineer drawings, I would recommend contacting Hatteras to get a set for the specific model, they are extremely beneficial.
