Looks like a great project for a younger Hatteras fan. Hell if I wasn't in my 70's (should be in 40's or so), I'd be tempted just for the fun of it. It looks great in the pictures.

Appropriate power would be M11s or C12 Cats, or the equivalent. I can't put my finger on it but the photos look funny to me, retouched or PSed or something? Maybe my eyes aren't working right.

A Series II 45C with M11s will run well over thirty knots, with the cabin and bridge and a tower. Can't imagine how fast this would be, but a thirty-knot cruise would be easily accomplished I would think. Now, how stable at that speed? I have no idea.

A pair of reman M11s is about 60K on the dock, plus putting them in. You'd certainly be in it for $150K or more, depending on what tower you added and your radio kit. Tom Slane did a few of these a couple of years ago; might be easier to find one of them already complete.
