  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Can't post a link yet, but the item number is #120394632736 on Ebay. Looking for opinions, comments, has anyone seen this one up close, etc.
This boat is also listed on BoatTrader for $89,000 OBO. What happened to the stove/oven? No reserve. Looks nice.

I have seen this boat many times [winter house next door] terra nova's exterior is perfect- looks like it was built yesterday from original plans-truly a rare find [no connection to boat or seller]

The pics show the boat well. A new twist- emailed contact listed on BoatTrader and he responded that the boat was under contract until 3/25.
He will call me if things change. However, the ebay auction continues. The contact name and number on ebay is not the same as that on BoatTrader.
Thanks for the feedback, Brian.

After further digging found that the present owner has 'sold' the boat to a broker who is now listing it for $119,000, as well as running the auction on ebay. He was unaware of the ebay auction and said they were scheduled to close next Wednesday.

A broker bought this boat on spec to resell? YIKES! Brave man.

What do you bet that closing falls through unless the eBay auction produces a buyer at a higher price?

Arbitraging old boats seems like a tough way to make a buck. Too many of us holding long positions against the short.

The price on YachtWorld is now down to $99,000. Guess they need to flip this quickly.

Called the broker on this boat today and apparently it's still available. Would there be any members in the Ft. Lauderdale area interested in taking a preliminary look for us before I make travel arrangements? Please let us know by PM if you have can help, thanks.

I live in the Fort Lauderdale area and have been on it. It is in pristine condition. The current asking price is $85,000. I have been considering buying it myself, but I don't think it's the right boat for me cause I want something I could fish on as well as cruise the Bahamas. It is very tempting though. You could eat off the bilge floor it is in such well cared for condition. Everything is immaculate. Almost looks like new. Let me know what your questions are. Karl

By all accounts this boat is exceptional. I'll be flying down this week to have a look. If it's as nice in person as it is in photos, we will be the newest old Hatt owners. Thanks.

Last time I dredge this thread up. Flew down to Ft Lauderdale to look at this boat and had to have it. It is just what we have been looking for so we bought it, closed Monday. We are the newest 'old' Hatteras owners and couldn't be happier. Looking forward to the trip north/home next month. Thanks to everybody on the forum for your advice and suggestions.

Congratulations and good luck. She looks like a beautiful Yacht.

Looks like a great boat. Enjoy.

Congratulations, I'm sure you will love it.

When are you bringing it up? When you're coming through NJ give me a call. I'd love to have you stay overnite at our Yacht club near Sandy Hook. We have several HOF members in the immediate area and I'll buy the first round to help you celebrate your new boat and welcome you to the group.

Walt

I'll buy the second round.

Well now we just have to wait for our guest of honor to accept our invite. Jack will you be in for the 3rd round? LOL.

By the way, if you do accept our invitation, and we really hope you do, we have some pretty attractive diesel prices next door to Larry's marina. After you cross from Sandy Hook to NY Harbor, the prices go up.

Walt

I'll buy the third round but he'll have to buy his own diesel! He can fuel up will we drink up at Sally Tee's.

Mttopd,

Well the balls in your court...

Walt

Walt, thanks for the invite. We accept and will buy a round or two ourselves. Had planned on stopping in NJ to top off fuel before heading up the Hudson, now we've got an excuse to stay over. Our final destination will be Lake Champlain and the plan is to leave Ft Lauderdale on 5/10 or 5/11. Not sure how long to Sandy Hook, this will be my first time all the way up ICW. Looking forward to meeting some HOFers in person. Let me know where I'm headed, I've been to Sandy Hook a couple of times over the years, but not really familiar. Thanks!
