Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Fin A Lee is in the hands of a new owner. Must say this was not the "Happiest Day" , however I have found a 31 Tiara with 6bta power that I'll be surveying later this month. I could not find a Hatt in my price range that provided cruise speeds in the high 20's and wot at 30 under $30,000. The idea of being able to get fish in the boat without doing acrobatics is quite appealing. Welcome Dave to the group. Surely he will have things to keep him busy on his new 43.

Congratulations (I think) Fred,

Where will the 43 be home ported? I hope she's in good hands. Most Hatts by Hurley were very interesting. Good luck with your next boat.

Sorry to hear Fred , but good on ya anyway. When mine sells it will be a sad day too.

New owner is likely going to NC somewhere. Looking forward to less boat. Never thought I would say that.

Congrats

If you get the boat with Bta's which are great engines there is a few small updates & maintenance to make sure was done.

They are 1994 and what I have learned is, the aftercoolers need to be in tip top shape , and changing out the Sherwood pump is a good upgrade. Upgrading the idler pulley bolt to grade 8 . Anything else that these have a common need for?

Someone has been doing there Homework ;)

The only other easy one is add the switch for the air heaters because they go on many times when not needed. It puts big strain on the wiring and alternators.

Also make sure alternators have all 4 bolts holding them together and check the Idler pulley bearing just spin it every once and a while had mine come apart after 2100 hrs.

If what I read is true the fuel economy should be something like 1.3 npg at cruise. That's a big jump from the 6v92's. How is the noise from the 6bta ?
