43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I need some help and suggestions. Carpet at the bottom of the steps going into aft cabin is soaking wet. I ck the bildges and water supply, it hasnt rained here and I havent washed the boat. Need aome help. Thanks

Overflowing condensate drain pan above the closet in master stateroom?

I did check the drain pain for the A/C nice and dry. The drain hose is alsp clear and draining correctly.

What Scott said only check the hoses that run to it. This has come up several times and it is always condensation in that area. Only other possibility is base of windshield and running back.

Did you pull up the floor boards to the aft bilge? My aft pump is in that area. I have seen a leaking bilge pump hose do what you are seeing. It would shoot a stream of water through the pinholes every time the pump cycled.

My boat sits at the dock a little bow down, so water has a tendency to run forward. I had some loose muffler hose clamps that tended to leak in that area. I also had a leak from some (apparently) piling damage on the aft port corner. It ended up in the same area.

That corrugated bilge pump hose is always a suspect specially is bent into U shape, I would check the shower and bilge pump area.

The p.o on mine used it in the fwd bilge and it leaked at the top, so when running it fill up the fwd bilge, scared the daylites out of me till I discovered the problem and not easy to get to, replaced with solid hose.

I had the same problem on my 78. Took me a whole summer to find. Carpet was always wet forward of the port master bunk. Turned out to be a rub rail leak forward of that. Water ran all the way to the transom behind the deck joint, then down the inside of the transom to the floor that the fuel tank sits on, then forward on that floor under the fuel tank and finally coming out forward of the fuel tank at the bottom of the steps. Removed about 15' of rub rail, cleaned and caulked screw holes and re-installed and no problems for the last 8 years.

Thanks for all your responces, the leak was the muffler clamps. I moved the clamps and tightened them. Im still learning everything on the boat.
