  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Does anyone have or know where I can find the Vital Information Page in the Owner's Manual for a 1981 43' AMF/Hatteras DCMY? It is page number 1.3 of the manual. Specifically it contains information about props and prop shafts.

Hatteras would be more than happy to provide that for you, phone them and they will send it, be sure you have hull # etc.

Thanks Dennis. Will give them a try.

Mine would should 24 square props and 1.75 shafts if that helps can't get the page since I left my boat in Marathon. Bill

Props are 4-blade 24X24, 1.75 inch shafts if main power DD 671 Ns. (J&T 310hp.)

Turbo model is the same (J&T 390HP). PO switched props to 24X23. works fine no issues.

Even though the responses may have answered your question re the props, if you do not have the original Hatteras manual that came with the boat, order it from Hatt. It used to cost $75 and at four or five times that price, it's one of the most useful things you can have to help you understand/maintain the systems on the boat. It is NOT a generic operating manual that was the same for every boat of that model. It will include all the line drawings, all system info/use, paint codes, light bulb types, wiring diagrams and the specific equipment that was installed on YOUR boat - by hull number - when it left the factory. It is the only reliable way to determine what your boat was like originally and it's a great help in correcting issues that previous owners/mechanics created when they "upgraded" stuff...especially anything that has any sort of electrical wire connected to it...

The manual that came with my 43 dc was incorrect in the sizing of the shaft packing, showed as 1/2" is actually 1/4", the packing glands do appear to be original and the p.o. has no record of any changes in history, a little generic there I think.
