41dc cruise speed

On my annual summer trip, I noticed that I was getting 8.2 kts @ 15-1600rpms, and 13.8-14.3 kts at 2350-2400 rpm.

I have a 1964 MYDC with 6v53s. The fuel tanks were approx 1/2-2/3 full, and approx 80 gal of water in the tank.

Does anyone out there know if these speeds are typical for this boat?

Boat seems to get on plane at 14 kts. Does this seem accurate?

I have 7.4 MerCruisers in mine, so my speed numbers are going to be quite different. I cruise 17.4 knots @ 3,000 and top out at a little better than 24 knots at WOT. Just out of curiosity, what kind of GPH/MPG numbers are you seeing?

At 8 kt, 1500-1600rpm, I get just under 2mpg or 4.3gph. At 2350 rpm I am burning 12gph, or 1- 1.2 mpg.
