Hatteras Model
61' MOTOR YACHT (1980 - 1985)
Hello All

Does anyone know anything about the 1964 41' DCMY on Yachtworld? One of my co workers is looking for an in expensive boat he took a look at this one and thought it was quite nice and could be had at a very good price. I was wondering if anyone had seen it or had any thoughts about it?

Hey Brian,

I've got a '65 41DC for sale on this site. It's not "inexpensive", but it is one of a kind and as turn key as it gets. I'm willing to negotiate as my plans seem to be changing on a daily basis.

Take it from someone whose been there, done that. Buying an "inexpensive" Hatteras can turn into an expensive and time consuming proposition. Like I tell my customers, buying a cheap safe can cost you everything you put into it. Know whattamean?

There is a 41DC on Yachtworld for $49k but it has gasoline engines, it's in California and says "sale pending".

There is another one in FL and that must be the one you are referring to. It is also $49k and it has diesels. Looks pretty good, as long as you like the older curved windows, oval portholes and only 300gal fuel capacity. It also has an Onan genset which is probably original so plan on replacing that shortly.

FYI, I have a 1967 41' Twin Cabin (they dropped the DC and went to TC for '67) for sale for only $59,900. 1967 was the first year they increased the fuel capacity to 400gal, and went to the rectangular portholes and regular non-curved windows. It was painted in 2005, new a/c's, Twin Detroit Diesel 6V53's and a newer Westerbeke 12kw genset.

There's a 1969 model with diesels in SC for $54,500. that looks very nice in the photos.

Hey "Son", the change from DC to TC actually happened mid-year of '65. I found this out when I helped another member figure out which boat he had so he could get a proper wiring diagram.

See, I told ya'll I can be serious. By the way, my boat is prettier than yours! We really need a logo for a "raspberry" sound like Archie Bunker used to make to Meathead! :D
