  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
36' CONVERTIBLE-Series I (1969 -1977)
Anybody know the distance (feet) from the bottom of the keel to the top of the windshield on my 1976 Series 1 36C?
Researching shipping it......

I passed Jim Rosenthal's 36C on I-95 a few years back. She was on her way to visit Tom Slane in High Point. IIRC the windshield and helmseat were off.

The bridge comes off and down the road it goes. I did this to bring my 34 from CT to FL. There are plugs on the factory wires and the added ones (over the years) get cut/disconnected and labeled. Seems like a big deal but actually not.

Plus easy to clean all before going back together.

I'm fairly certain the manual says it's 13 ft. Add 3 ft for the draft. I'll try to remember to grab the manual in the morning and verify.

The book says: Height Above Water Line... 12' 11" to top of flybridge. Draft.... 3' 0".

Hoping this is still the case. Thinking about sending mine to the same place. If I have to take the bridge off....it's not making the trip.

We didn't. Some of this is dictated by the route the boat has to take, but mine went from the Tidewater, Virginia area to High Point. We had to take off the windshield, the helm seat, lower all the radio masts, but that was about it. The transports were done by Miami Cradle, Inc- Tom Slane can give you their contact information if you need it. They did a great job. Moving a 36 Series I is a walk in the park for them, they do much larger boats all the time.

When was shipped from Texas to FL and the bridge came off, as mentioned is not a big deal.

Hey Todd--did you decide to pull the repower trigger? Do you still have any interest in my transmissions if so?
